Recruiting Under-represented Students of Color: Equitable Instruments, Goals, and Recommendations

This session is based on the philosophy of equity  in order to recruit more under-represented students of color in gifted education. Culturally responsive instruments are discussed, along with a strategy for setting quantifiable goals to target representation. Barriers regarding educator beliefs are presented. Participants are asked to read the Culturally Responsive Equity-Based Bill of Rights by Ford and co-authors.
